Almond Flax Keto Bread

I have a super easy Paleo Bread to share. Yup – this little beauty is grain free! No tricky cooking skills required, anyone can make this recipe in as little as 1 hour.

Bon appetite!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups blanched almond flour – also called almond meal
  • 1/4 cup ground flax seeds
  • 1 tbsp whole flax seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 4 large eggs beaten
  • 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp honey (optional- omit for keto)

1 tbsp coconut oil, to grease the loaf pan – or coconut oil spray is easier. Or use baking paper.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C.
  2. Mix all ingredients together until thoroughly combined.
  3. Grease a 24 cm loaf pan or line it with baking paper instead.
  4. Pour dough into the loaf pan and bake at 150°C for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the bread’s center comes out clean.

Cool before serving.

The NUTRITIONAL factor

Many people omit bread due to gluten sensitivity, or carb sensitivity. But did you know about these shocking facts?

Glyphosate

A little known fact is that farmers use glyphosate on crops such as wheat, oats, edible beans and other crops right before harvest.

“Farmers often had trouble getting wheat and barley to dry evenly so they can start harvesting. So they came up with the idea to kill the crop (with glyphosate) one to two weeks before harvest to accelerate the drying down of the grain,” Charles Benbrook, Ph.D., who published a paper on the mounting use of glyphosate.

This chemical has been linked to cancer, kidney disease and even the rise in autism!

Commercial Bread contains BROMIDE!

Bromated flour is “enriched” with potassium bromate. Commercial baking companies claim it makes the dough more elastic and better able to stand up to bread hooks. But we know that bromide is a serious problem and the main reason why people have trouble absorbing iodine. This can be corrected by iodine therapy, the correct use of dietary salt, and detoxification support.

Phytic acids

Phytic acid in grains, nuts, seeds and beans can represent a serious problem in our diets.

When a diet including phytates is consumed, the body will bind calcium to phytic acid and form insoluble phytate complexes. You lose calcium and won’t absorb phosphorus, altering the acid/alkaline mantle in the body. Further, research suggests that we will absorb approximately 20 percent less zinc and 60 percent less magnesium from our food when phytate is present. A high phytate diet frequently induces bone mineral pathologies in populations dependent upon cereal grains as a primary food source. We are not stating no one can ever have any grains, Paleo may not be for everyone, but moderation is best.
