Is it Thyroid tea time?  What to drink and when…

When selecting a therapeutic tea to ease the afternoon away, why not combine it with a blend of herbs that work well in helping your thyroid too! Any herbs that address adrenal function, act as antioxidants, help sleep and calm the nervous system are great options to think about. So, what herbs would benefit the thyroid?


For improving brain function and mental clarity:

  • Gingko
  • Rosemary

When: any stage during the morning to early afternoon










Good adrenal tonics:

  • Licorice
  • Rehmannia

When: morning or night








To help improve blood sugar metabolism:

  • Cinnamon
  • Gymnema

When: morning is best

For nervous system support/ times of stress:

  • Oatstraw
  • Chamomile

When: morning or night










For improving sleep:

  • Passionflower
  • Chamomile
  • Hops

When: best taken before bed


For improving digestion:

  • Peppermint
  • Chamomile
  • Ginger
  • Lemon juice in warm water, first thing in the morning

When: Preferably before meals








Antioxidant protection:

  • Green tea
  • Thyme

When: morning is best








Quantities to take: generally 1-2 tsp of dried herb is sufficient to steep for 5 mins in some water. Sit back and enjoy!
